What a lovely thread. So envious of you talented people. I have dabbled with exploding boxes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbCr4hsgPe8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I enjoyed making these and you can put any small gift in the middle like a keyring or just a nice chocolate. My daughters friends went a bit mad for these and found myself working all day to keep up with demand :-D .

We had a family Christmas a couple of years ago where we were all a bit hard up and agreed not to exchange presents. But then my sister came up with a brilliant plan that we exchanged presents but it has to be something either free or handmade. Mum and sister made lovely bags and purses, I gave away books and dvds in homemade gift bags, dad did houseplants that were made from cuttings, and OH offered to service their computers for free (though he was doing that anyway :-D ). Though I actually think giving vouchers for services is a really good idea - we can all do something.

Go to a Boot Fair or Charity Shop and buy some cheap old bad taste pictures.

Take the pictures out, clean up the glass, the frames and put family pics inside. )t' )t'

Maybe not gifts for younger people but Mums, Grandmums and Aunts will like them.
