What shall I do with this lot?
What shall I do with this lot?Let me explain, I'm currently banned from 20 mile bike rides as its no good for my arthritic knees, er indoors has said 5 miles max, so today I did 5 miles, in 20 minutes
Anywho, I noticed someone had dumped a crate type pallet at the side of the road so I went to get my car to retrieve it, I turned around in a farmers gateway, lo and behold there was another one! Only just managed to get them in my Citroen berlingo! About an hour later and they were both stripped down, it's a heavy wood, some of it looked to be a hardwood, I reckon each pallet weighed around 40 kilo. So what shall I make? I'm fresh out of ideas, most are the pieces are quite short, the longest are about 44" there's 18 of those and 13 at 36" There's also six 3x3"x3' but most are bent as a nine bob note, they are really heavy! Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.
Re: What shall I do with this lot?I have absolutely no imagination when it comes to stuff like this but I can't wait to see some of the ideas our brainbox Laners come up with! Great find!
No girls at the moment but look forward to getting more in the future. Proud mummy to Hector, a Bedlington Terrier x Jack Russell
Re: What shall I do with this lot?How about one of those pallet benches I've seen on here - they're great

Re: What shall I do with this lot?I'm not certain the wood will be strong enough for a bench. I might have a look see at making a table for my grill for outside under the pergola.

Re: What shall I do with this lot? What about a couple of chairs in the style of a bench?
Those crooked 3x3s will give the legs real character. I once went out with a girl that had legs like that. Relax, I could have been a twin.
Re: What shall I do with this lot?what did you make after?
Re: What shall I do with this lot?Exciting find! What about a wine rack ?
Re: What shall I do with this lot?
I'm tee total, spose I could fill it with vimto bottles? Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.
Re: What shall I do with this lot?Not sure you would be able to do this, if as you say the wood is not very strong - but my suggestion is a "day bed". My OH has just made one. I will post a picture if I can remember how.
Re: What shall I do with this lot?I made a cupboard for the garden, search through my threads is there somewhere with pictures.
Used some of it for gravel boards on the chooks run as well. Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.
