Al,
If you used some of those big pallets for the long sides and sanded and polished them up they would appeal to the recycling fraternity.
Now a catchy title...... Palletial Coffins. )t'

Al, the table is absolutely stunning, well done! Only 99p start?
This is a very unique table, considering I paid £500 for ours, which is nowhere near as nice as yours, greedy me would raise the start price!

Dom, talk about great minds that was the first title that came to my mind too. )grin2( Take a close look at the packing case in the first picture of the post, it was used to transport church organ pipes. I think I could make two coffins from the timber in that case. )t'

As for the 99p start I am a believer in letting things find there own value. The table owes me very little in fincial outlay and just short of five days work so I am sure it will cover that. :-D

So if any of you know anyone who has just converted an old church or chappel into a house and is looking for a large table then point them in my direction. {rofwl}

Very clever!

You mean I was the only one nosy enough to follow the auction :oops:
I'll leave it for Al to tell, but I would think he would be pleased. It was certainly more than the 99p starting price.

No, I went to ebay and looked for the number he gave us, then scrolled down. Not quite the £500 that red angel paid for hers, so someone got a bargain, but lots more than 99p. Both sides happy I should think.

Well it sold for £216, so yes Mo someone did get a bargain. That is to say if they pay for it they did. I have had no contact from the buyer. }hairout{
I am not a greedy person but I thought it would have brought a bit more. Like I said it cost very little in fincial outlay but if I take my time into consideration it has cost me money.
Oh well, nothing ventured etc.
Although if the buyer doesn't pay up then it may still find its way to the winter wood pile. So at least I will get a couple of evenings warmth from it. )grin2(

Perhaps you should have put a reserve price on it, would be a shame to smash it up.

A reserve price wouldn't help if the buyer doesn't pay up.
Have you heard from them yet?

Yes Mo, they did get in touch to say their internet connection went down just as the auction ended. And other such lies. {mr.angry}
Anyway I found a new buyer for it who also wants me to make two benches to match. )c( )t'
