I am going to try and make a roof out of 2Liters plastic bottles.

All in it was about £200!!! (could have bought one for that!!) but we all had a really enjoyable day and lots of new parents got envoled!! Which was fab!!

Oh, what an excellent project! It looks absolutely great. Very well done to you BB and everyone who helped. )t'

I think it is suprising how many 'wins' are involved here. Initially, there is the green issue of recycling old bottles, then the collecting, which judging by the amount of bottles involved many people, therefore helped community feeling. Then there was the actual building, which again, must have strengthened relationships both with community and parent/child.

Now you have a fantastic greenhouse where you can not only continue this project on, but also encourage and educate children and adults in the pleasures of growing plants.

Thanks Helen it is a win win situation, other schools are now wanting to do it and are asking how! and we were getting carried away with all the possiblities, such as opening the school for a local festival!!

Gosh, that's fantastic. What a brilliant idea. Have you seen the Mexican island made from plastic bottles? Loads about it via google and youtube.

I'm sure I've seen another one where the bottles are on their sides so you see the ends as stacked circles - very striking, and you'd get a depth of "wall" that would be a great insulater that way. )t'

Rhubarb, i've seen ones with bottles on end, but they were all glass, i'm not sure how plastic bottles could be contained that way.

This has made me remember an old tip from someone from way back when.
She used 2 litre coke bottles, with a panel cut out of the side, hinge type. And then propagated her Orchids in them. Perfect for a mini greenhouse.
