Pallet splitting for girls.

Post by iamDenise »

Hello, I'm new here and just read the 'pallet splitting' thread. I have a serious back problem and recently wanted to split some pallets easily, without any strength required and without splitting the wood. With a bit of lateral thought I came up with a good way. I use a car jack, the small kind that sits in with a spare wheel. Simply slide the jack between the planks next to the cross bars and wind it up. Do a complete side and then knock the cross bars off the other side with a mash hammer. The most energetic bit was removing the nails! I tried to post some photos to illustrate this but I failed. But it's a great method if you can't rely on strength and is fairly quick.

 Oops just realised that it's already mentioned in the pallet splitting thread! I'll shut up now and fully read the other threads before I post again!
