Pallet splitting for girls.Pallet splitting for girls.Hello, I'm new here and just read the 'pallet splitting' thread. I have a serious back problem and recently wanted to split some pallets easily, without any strength required and without splitting the wood. With a bit of lateral thought I came up with a good way. I use a car jack, the small kind that sits in with a spare wheel. Simply slide the jack between the planks next to the cross bars and wind it up. Do a complete side and then knock the cross bars off the other side with a mash hammer. The most energetic bit was removing the nails! I tried to post some photos to illustrate this but I failed. But it's a great method if you can't rely on strength and is fairly quick.
Re: Pallet splitting for girls. Oops just realised that it's already mentioned in the pallet splitting thread! I'll shut up now and fully read the other threads before I post again!
