Pallet stripping tool!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Cranford Steve »

Here is my new pallet stripping tool! I saw them advertised at £40 something pounds! I thought sod that, my dad is a fabricator welder, so I asked him to knock one up for me, and here she is!

Photo's removed.....

It's a pity that Cranford Steve has seen something and thought 'I can make for myself at for the fraction of the cost' and shown us, true frugal spirit.
It was posted with no selling in mind, just posted how many people do when they've seen something and made whatever it is for their own personal use.

However, another Member who has the designer's rights on a similar design has objected to this, regardless of Steve's version is for his own use and not for retail purposes.

As this Forum has over 5,000 visitors a day, I feel it only right to remove all the objecting Forum member's pictures from Forum as they could give someone an idea to copy and make something similar.

If you post a picture on Forum, you are agreeing to it being viewed world wide and stand the risk that some DIY orientated person somewhere will make their own variation.

If one does not want to run that risk, best post no pictures at all

I regret I can do nothing about the item sold on Amazon, which does the job for only £16

Thank you and my sincere apologies to Steve.

Richard

In fairness to Steve, he is not selling them, just saying he's seen something and made one for himself and the link to Amazon's product is very similar as well.

Anyways, not long after you posted Mallard, Gareth has written to me, I've explained the above and said if he feels strongly the above should be removed, I will do so.

However, I'm sure that you, other's and myself have shown many items we have made which are basically someone elses original design etc.

The problem is if you post on a public forum, we have upwards of 5,000 visitors a day, someone else may be copying the idea and making one for themselves. Best if there's a copyright, don't publish it anywhere else but your own website, I wouldn't !!!
Best we take all the other photo's down really, it would be very hard to check every DIY forum in the land to see if someone else is doing the same.

I'm easy, don't want any formal type letters through my door, got many other things to think and worry about at present.

Cheers, no prejudice

Richard

PS. If you google 'splitting pallets' the original thread showing the photo's is Number 4 on the ranking. I can't be responsible for 100's of other people doing exactly the same.

Please see the amended first post in thread.

As said, in fear of another act of copyright law infringement, I have removed all photo's posted by Gareth, I can't afford to run the risk of someone else pinching an idea to save themselves a bit of money and getting sued for it.
