Re: Pallet stripping tool!!!!!!!!!!

No worries Steve, I am sure that there are many out there who have made their own pallet splitting tools in the past. A quick look at google brings up any number of similar designs, at the end of the day it is a lever with a shaped end; it is just unfortunate that your version caused a bit of a discussion about copyrights. It is my opinion that by making your own pallet splitter you have displayed a degree of the DTL spirit in taking the initiative to make your own rather than shell out £40+ (was that figure correct) on quite a simple tool; we have an entire section devoted to being frugal and splitting pallets. Anyway well done for making your own (or getting your Dad to make one for you), and I do find it quite unfortunate that we had to have the discussion about copyrights.

As a post script, I have just been reading a post on pallet splitting in another forum, the author had made their pallet splitter, very similar to the one that you made, by copying a design from someone else, just goes to show that it is not an uncommon practice. )t'

Hi Steve,

Don't worry. Like Saint-Spoon, I did a bit more googling around, absolutely loads of them.

I was quite proud of that...

A lot of investment went into it, I lost two eggs in production.

You can all laugh, it's quite technical getting the exact dynamics and velocity of egg rolling right.
Have to say I was short of buyers at £16.95 (exc p&p).

I'm not posting the picture of my home made snow scraper.
