Leaky Drainpipe

Post by Tink »

We had some scaffolding up last year and think the lads have moved the plastic drain pipe and loosened a couple of joints.
We tried the sealent stuff and no joy. Paid £10 from Bexxerware for tape. Its mainly done it but will have to wait till dry before trying again with whats left of the tape.
Are we wasting our time and if so what should we be doing please.
Its only a drip now rather than pouring so maybe the tape will do it.
The tape seems quite good, you peel off the backing, its thick and very sticky and you
mould it on .
Any advice appreciated please.

If the gutter or pipe is not split it is prolly a seal that has been disturbed on one of the joints. Best bet is to remove and refit seal so it sits properly iyswim. Or replace the seal/joint. )t'

If a gutter joint gets disturbed, dirt and grit can get under the seal and you get drips! :?
Do as Steve suggested, remove the seal and clean or replace it.. )t'

The pipe isn't blocked at the bottom is it? if clogged with leaves or moss the pipe will fill up with water and leak.
