I just stuck us on the local allotment waiting list!

Post by Novastar »

They reckon there's over a year's wait for our local lottie, which is about 10 mins walk down the road, but have got us on the list now so hopefully some point next year once we've finished renovating the house and garden, we'll have a new project )t'
Apparently there are about 50 people ahead of us and there are 56 plots on the site...

Just thought I'd share it :D

I hope the wait isn't too long after your home renovations. They are getting a lot more popular, but we have noticed at our allotment location, that quite a few people don't keep them up. They don't realise that they are a commitment when it comes to regular looking after. These allotments then are back in circulation.
It does shorten the list a bit, so fingers crossed. )t'

Visit regularly, get to know some of the old plotters, admire their plots, a little ego boosting can be remembered at commitee meetings! )grin2(
The two year waiting list I joined turned into two months, and I'm a mere male! sile}

actually not a bad idea to see how different people work their plot and what crops do well. You can be learning and getting a feel for it and then it won't seem such a shock when that day happens and you get told you have a plot!

Just discovered this excellent forum. This is my first post to date.
Good luck with the procuring of your allotment. Here in Loughton, I have been on the waiting list for two years; and still waiting. )sh

Ooooh, good luck! we have been over 4years on our waiting list and we have been Number 11 for as long as I can remember in a queue of 160+.

Excellent idea of going round now to meet the Allotmenteers already there!
I swear I'll have a permanent imprint of my palm over my face from reading forums.
