nettlesnettlesI have just cut down an enormous heap of nettles with the shears. Is it possible to compost these? Would they make a good mix with grass clippings to prevent the grass going slimy? I hasten to add, it is only the tops; there are no nettle roots - those are being burned

Re: nettlesnettle tops (without seeds) in the compost bin is a Or make a nettle tea liquid fertiliser - drown the leaves in a bucket of cold water and leave until it rots. Then dilute to a weak tea before watering.
