Geranium leaves going dark
Geranium leaves going darkI've just started putting gernaiums outside to harden off during the day and almost immediately the larger leaves have started to go a dark maroony colour.
Is this just adjusting to the wind? Gugle says that over or under watering can cause it (thanks) but I wonder do they need feeding or something?
Re: Geranium leaves going dark
it's possible though I'm only guessing, that as the wind can have a drying effect, that it is the "underwatering" as suggested. If they have been indoors in a stable environment, they may be affected to the hardening off (swing in temperature and air movement difference)
Re: Geranium leaves going dark
Thanks LL. If this is the problem, will they just sort themselves out iyo? I hadn't thought about the drying effect. I'll try upping the water. I suppose it can't hurt to feed them occasionally as well as they've been flowering and in the same pots for a while. Re: Geranium leaves going darkMy geraniums are still in the greenhouse, apart from three which have been outside all winter in a fairly sheltered spot. Afraid I can't help you with your query, but I hope your plants survive.
Re: Geranium leaves going darkThanks, all.
Re: Geranium leaves going darkI had almost the same problem and found info that it could be some fungal infection.
Re: Geranium leaves going darkWhat happened to yours FR?
