Lancashire Chicken Owners

Post by luckilotti »

Hi,
i was wondering if anyone in Lancashire who has chickens could possibly tell me where you buy your food from etc? The reason being, i am running a collection point in Lancashire for the next Fresh Start for Hens rehoming date and i am trying to find as many places in the area where i can ask nicely if they will put up posters for it so that as many poultry keepers in the area as possible know about the new collection point.
Also, if there are any other vets practices etc whereby you think poultry keepers may see a poster, please feel free to share as i want to try and get as many new homes as possible in the area.
Thanks )t'

Hi lukilotti

I am sure Hillcrest Animal Hospital in Chorley would put one up. I take my girls there and have been to a Chicken talk there in the past. :-D

I buy my hens' stuff from Croston Corn Mill, Grape Lane, Croston. They sell a good range of feed plus a variety of powders, potions and lotions. They also have a big message board where you can display posters.
The small animal vet I use is Garden and Garden in Standish, Wigan. I don't know that they are chicken specialists but I rang before I got my girls and was told that Mr Garden would look at chickens if the need arose. Again, they have a notice board.
If you want to email me posters I'll ask if I can put them up. The place I get my horse feed from would probably display one too.

Hiya,

If you PM me your address, I can send you some posters )t'

Sorry for ever so slightly hijacking here, but this is a good thread, I would like to know where everyone gets their feed and other bits n bobs from because I want to put a page on the FSFH website with a list of animal suppliers in all the different areas of the UK to help assist current and new hen keepers in sourcing feed and accessories. Sending me a PM of these details will only fill my inbox, so if you want to name your local supplier and let me have their address, website, and what they sell and also, if they offer delivery, then use the contact us link on the Fresh Start For Hens website.

Thank you Luckilotti )t' {hug}
