Eggceptional Bargain

Post by Totally Scrambled »

There has been much discussion here about how much you should charge for eggs.
We've just sold 3 dozen eggs for about 3 tons of woodchip.
There were tree fellers just over the road and they said we could have it for free and they would dump it round the back of our house. All just been dumped and a dozen eggs supplied to each of the tree fellers.
Result.

That is a bargain..I don't sell mine but I do swap.
4 eggs some new potatoes before ours were ready .
6 eggs 4 tomato plants which are doing well.
6 eggs 1 jar of gooseberry and 1 jar of rhubarb and ginger jam .
All the eggs a neighbour wanted to keep an eye on our girls while we went away for a weekend .
4 lovely girls~~ Clover, the oldie and top chick Bonnie second in command .new girls Bluebell and Blossom.
2 lovely new girls 19-01-2015~~ Chelsea and Ruby.
Eva , Florry , Poppy ,Annie and Rosie R.I.P
The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.” - unknown

We don't sell either. But barter.
A neighbour gives me her leftovers for the chooks for 6 eggs.
The little local shop has 6 eggs a week and for that we get his out of code date stuff.
Supposedly for the chooks. But usually bacon, sausages, black pudding, choc cakes, muffins, Danish pastries, butter.
As we don't eat a lot of any of it our children and grand children do well. )grin2(

Before i got my chickens, I would swap strawberry jam with my friend for eggs. She now keeps bees, so hopefully honey instead of eggs.
