Tiny Egg

Post by Phoenix82 »

I've just been to collect the eggs and found this

Image

It could be from either my Bluebell or Black Rock ,neither of them has laid for a while and the Black Rock did lay a Lash a few weeks ago.

What's going on??

I was about to say it was what I have heard referred to as a 'wind egg' We have had two or three of these over our two years, but have never had one with a yolk. Ours were also dark brown and speckley

I guess the magical process of making such a beautiful thing as an egg is bound to have the odd miss-fire now and again - especially if one is firing up a system that has been on hold for a while.

Cheers

They're hilarious aren't they! My huge brahma leaves them on the lawn sometimes,
& little blind Giblet made one last week that was sooo tiny, the size of a marble!

We had one like that a couple of weeks ago. And it was a bantam egg to start with, so it looked like a quail's egg. Perhaps I should have done some nouvelle cuisine with it.

I wish I'd kept all the recent ones, it would be fun to blow them, paint them and
hang them up for easter!
