Hello Andy,
You cannot post pictures directly from your PC as they need to be on a photo hosting site such as Photobucket, Picasa, FB etc.
Then you copy the photo's URL, come bach here and at the top of the text box click the "Img" button and paste the URL between the two sets of square brackets and click "Submit"
That should do it. If not then ask and someone will give you a hand.

Belated welcome from me. We've been busy re-jigging our set up ready for some new girls arriving.

Please don't be put off asking questions. Generally responses on here are non-judgemental because we've all done stupid things, asked daft questions and generally shown ourselves up. I've always thought that if I was going to be a twerp this is a good place to do it.

I'm sure you know this, but if you are going to let your girls free range, it's a good idea to get them used to the rattle of the treats/corn container. That way, no matter how much fun they're having they will come to the tin when you rattle it.

Enjoy your new chooks. I wonder how long it will be before you get a few more????
Bea; 19 hens (most of whom I intended to get); 6 bantams (which I never intended to have); old Benji dog and young Toby dog (who I definitely wanted). Three years into country living and loving it.

... perhaps she may be ok with bantams as two bantam ladies will probably count as less than one large fowl hen :: {rofwl} lol thought try my luck as i have bantams to go.

No, NO, NO. Not yet. 3 now 5 next year is the way to go.
If you've just got them nicely settled don't spoil things by introducing newcomers to fight with. You'll need to get a few new girls to keep up the egg supply later, so don't fill your run now with Point-of-Lay who will all be slowing down at the same time.

Despite my hankering for 5, we are going to hold off as I want our 3 to be settled and happy first! :-)

If the food isn't in the coop and not in the run to prevent attracting rats and mice where do you all put it at night?

We store our sacks of feed in plastic dustbins within one of the covered runs. The feeders we raise up and hang on hooks just under the roof of the run.
If you can't do this then just bring the feeder indoors at night )t'

We just pick the food up and put it in the garage over night then put it back in the morning.
