Whilst building the chickens new run today the door fell off the coup. Which in itself sounds worse than it is. It is a door which opens outwards giving a ramp all be it about 5 inches off the ground into the coup. The coup also has a sliding door so shutting the girls in is not a problem, but I just wondered do chickens need a ramp for the 5 inches off the ground. They seem happy enough to hop/fly up to 3 foot so I can't see them being fussed. I just wondered why the coup would have a ramp door and a sliding door really.
The run is not going according too plan the good idea of putting the coup in the run didn't work as I didn't have enough room so I am now on plan B! Equally amongst the annoyance and few other words it does mean the hens have more room as they don't have the coup in the run!
