broody hen

Post by newchicken »

I am new to chicken keeping, but have beautiful barnervelders, they have, the run of the place,as well as my neighbours six mixed breeds, after having them for a few months, two have become broody,(hence my finding this site looking up info on broody hens), they are now looking abit more like returning to normal, as they have started to come out more often, I keep taking the egss from them, in the hope they will give up in the end, I rang the breeder of my hens, and he said in all the time he has had barnerveders {several years) :?: he has never had one go broody, never mind two, so has anyone else had this breed, and found them to be broody
