Smallest eggSmallest eggI often see on this forum the largest egg being recorded, but today I collected what must be one of the smallest eggs. It is 3 cm long and 2 cm diameter, and it is red one end.
I think it was laid by one of my chooks because I can't see a wild bird choosing their nest box to lay an egg. Do I need to worry? What's right with this country is the freedom to discuss what's wrong with it.
Re: Smallest eggI'm not sure about the colour - but we had a couple of really tiny eggs in January.
They were minature versions of the usual. They tasted fab and had the smallest, cutest yolk I have ever seen! Re: Smallest eggSorry Josh, you'll have to explain that one!

Re: Smallest eggHi, here's a pic of my girls 'wind egg'.
It is basically what it says, nothing in the middle but 'wind'. Debbie x Owner of a Silver/Pearl Egg Skelter.
Spud the dog,Bernard and Dave the rabbits, and 9 girls.. Ethel, Clara, Clarice, Strangeways, Muppet, Norma, Smudger, Gladys and Houdini. RIP Eveline x RIP my beautiful dog Doris. X Another Sunny Clucker Trucker in the waiting Re: Smallest eggSorry Rod I should have explained. As Debbie says nothing in the middle. You may find there is no yolk, they are sometimes called fart eggs - oops
Re: Smallest eggMy ladies would never lay one of those - they are far too polite!
Have heard of 'wind eggs' but both of the tiny eggs we had had their full complement of insides.
