Lost another 2 ladies this week

One lady was one of the burger mans chickens that I rescued a few weeks ago, no obvious cause,I just think the change was too much for her and the other lady was one of my 2nd lot of ladies I got..it was onlky a few days after I had to put my other lady out of her misery when she prolasped
At the moment I'm feeling quite negative about getting more girls..3 in one week is alot and it just breaks my heart

Hi Lizzie, so sorry to hear about your little girls, we have lost a few of our original girls this last month. I think we've had them about 18 months so not as heartbreaking as yours. But still it is so painful to see them go We are still going to get some more, but the rescue is not near to us this time so will have to wait for a while. I'm sure you won't give up on having some more because you are such a good chicken mummy, and they need people like you, so keep your chin up sending you

Lizzie, it is tough this hen keeping , I sometimes wonder if it is because we care about them so much that we become a bit unrealistic about the fragility of these feathered sweeties. Focus on the holiday and your continuing recovery , thats the important thing for now, then when the time is right you can make decisions about more or not.

Lizzie I'm so sorry you've lost more of your girls - It is hard when they die but while they were with you, you gave them a good life, you gave them everything they needed and they were loved & so well cared for.
Time to take care of yourself first now hun, enjoy your holiday and build up your strength..
