Sorry Freeranger. As a fairly new chicken keeper I felt awful the first time we had a girl off colour. She recovered but we've lost a couple since and it doesn't seem to get any easier.

As you say, we learn as we go along and thanks to the friends Down the Lane we do a better job than we perhaps would left to our own devices.
