funny noise

I have a hen who is making a funny noise. she is eating and drinking ok but her comb is a bit pink so something is not right..
Any advice please

mmm its a bit hard to explain. It sounds like a squeak.
I picked her up and I did notice a bit of a swelling on her neck.

Pale comb could be a number of things, first thing I would do is check for the usual, has she been wormed, mites, lice etc, sometimes the comb fades is she is coming into moult!...

It could be respiratory
It could be a blockage from feed or something she's ingested
It could be gapeworm
It could be a physical thing with her....I've read of a chicken that made a similar noise and when they culled her (because they thought she had something infectious) they did a PM and found she had extra cartiledge around her glottis which could have made the noise.

I'd say keep a close eye on her...if it's respiratory the chances are she'll either soon show she's feeling poorly or the others will start picking on her
