Marriages pellets with flubenvet. Free to good home

Post by ChrisandClare »

Hello all

Our girls have just come to the end of their week on the pellets and we have about 3kg left so prob about enough for to treat 3-4 chickens.

If anybody could make use of it and is close to Northwich, Cheshire drop me a line.

Otherwise it will be going in the bin as it has use by date at start of September

That is such a shame.. I am sorry that I can't help but I really think it is time that companies started selling smaller bags even if you have to pay slightly more as it is so convenient..
Many a time it has been mentioned on here about the short life .
I gave up on the pellets and now use the powder which is mixed with their treats or food.It make seems exspensive but with only 4 chickens it lasts a year at least .

Couldn't agree more jackie

Came in a 10kg bag. Gave half of it away in exchange for some grit and corn to a friend in work and still have loads left!

Our girls eat none stop but even they would struggle to demolish 10kg in a week!

Eldest daughters solution was let's get some more chickens!

I think they should come in smaller bags too. We only have 2 hens and I just wormed them last week. I know it's not that difficult to mix up the flubenvet powder with the pellets but I always spend ages doing it as I worry I'm not getting it mixed in enough :?

Thanks. As soon as the hopper is empty I'll start using it.

I get Flub pellets from Happychicks. They do sell a 5kg tub that is just right for a smaller flock. )t'

Spoke to an advisor last time i bought mine on line ,asked about keeping what was left for a 3 month period ,was told to put in an airtight container to keep dry in 3 months time would still be 95% affective .With my 5 hens had about 5 kg left so just enough to use again in 3 months time .
A leek in the hand,is worth 2 in the roof.

Thanks for the top tips on both the availability of the 5kg and also the fact they can actually be stored and used again

Both tips should make it a little more cost effective in 3 months time as definitely sticking to the pellets as the girls happily ate them with no issues at all.
