Is Cod Liver Oil okay to feed to the ladies??

Post by Davina »

My gran has been telling me about when they kept chickens, back in the olden days..

Apart from kitchen scraps and corn, she says she either spread some Cod Liver oil on a peice of bread and made sure they all got some or mixed it into their feed every couple of days? Is this okay for our ladies?

So far mine love my gooseberries, rasberries, tomatoes greenbeans and sprout plants everything growing on the allotment....

Can't see any problem in that at all. One tip for preventing the water in the drinker freezing up in the winter is to add some oil to eat.

Absolutely fine.
I give mine a weetabix or shredded wheat soaked in olive oil a couple of times a week. Just because that is what I have and haven't got CLO. Keeps everything lubricated.

If you can't be a good example........
you will just have to be a horrible warning

I give mine cod liver oil most days - I buy a branded one and use half a capful on a piece of bread. There are 8 girls so they all get some. They also have their vitamins daily.
