Will it go dark in your house ?
Will it go dark in your house ?So we know tomorrow when we go to bed we have to put the clocks forward by one hour BUT is anybody going to observe Earth Hour earlier on in the evening ?
It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .

Re: Will it go dark in your house ?What is Earth Hour???????
Re: Will it go dark in your house ?We are supposed to switch off all lights for one hour between 8-9pm (I think might be 7 -8 how hopeless am I)to save electricity and earth resources , O f course with everybody bumping around in the dark , falling down stairs, trippping over the cat etc then the ambulance service might not have its resources saved

Re: Will it go dark in your house ?I think that our two month old might have something to say about us doing that to save her inheritance; milk will be due. I haven’t had my laptop on for the past two weeks which will have saved far more energy than turning off my lights for an hour. Sorted.

Re: Will it go dark in your house ?It's a nice idea but not sure if I will remember.

I usually do. We are out so therefore our house will be dark. http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: Will it go dark in your house ?Well I will be out at some point too, so that can be my earth hour.

Re: Will it go dark in your house ?So you turn off your lights for an hour in the evening to save resources and the planet.
Sounds good but I doubt the leccy generating companies will turn the power stations off or down, so the same amount of fuel will be used and the same amount of electricity will be produced just so people can fall over things in the dark or set fire to their homes with candles. I suppose people could work out how much money they saved not having the lights on for an hour and donate that to adopt a wind farm or something. Sorry guess I'm just a cynic. Dom Ali Woks My World
Re: Will it go dark in your house ?
Good point Dom..........
Re: Will it go dark in your house ?I think it is more to 'raise awareness' than actually save electric.
I swear I'll have a permanent imprint of my palm over my face from reading forums.
Re: Will it go dark in your house ?I'm a cynic too.
I don't really see that it raises awareness if people think they've 'done' Earth Hour, so can carry on as usual the rest of the year. Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html

Re: Will it go dark in your house ?Its a bit like the week the kids are supposed to walk to school . They do it for the designated week then hop in Mummys 4 x 4 for the rest of the year.
Anyway if some of us dont know what it is , some of us dont know when its is , then its not raising much awareness is it It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .
