Re: Had a fall this morningOh no June, I'm so sorry to hear about your fall
We have a wooden decking and I've gone for a burton a few times on it, it's terribly slippy sometimes. Hope your foot is feeling better this morning and if it's still swollen you will get it checked out won't you hey Bev x

Re: Had a fall this morningSending hugs June.. ..hope you are feeling better today.
Re: Had a fall this morning
Well the foot swelling is going down good but other bruises are now coming out. Elbow and bum a bit sore and knee a bit uncomfortable. I think I may have strained the tendon behind the knee so am wearing a support bandage. I think that today I will have a restful day I can easily get bored with sitting about so must see if I have any unfinished craft bits to keep me occupied. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Had a fall this morningHope you feel better with rest, remember RICE: rest, ice, compression and elevation.
I'd add regular pain relief as well, not sure if you you have any but arnica cream or tablets help too. I have chickens Blaze, Star and Comet, who have met Sunny Clucker in Cheshire :-)
I'm training to be a midwife!!!!!

Re: Had a fall this morningSo glad you didn't damage your back or hips. Falling at my age (72) is my biggest fear so I'm very careful. Take care, and see a doctor if anything troubles you. Better safe than sorry. Hope all goes well and you're back on track very soon.
Re: Had a fall this morningOh June
If you're still crook today will you go and get everything checked out? Big Bev x

Re: Had a fall this morning
I'm feeling much easier today thanks Bev. The egg sized swelling has gone down and left a wide bruise which isn't too bad. I did manage to get a shoe on this morning. Once the bruises come out, the healing starts. I think that I also strained the tendon behind the knee a bit but am wearing a support bandage and it also is easier today. If in trouble I would go somewhere, but know from past experience that these things go down in their own time. It's just a matter of resting, bags of peas from the freezer and a rub as has been suggested. Nothing is cracked or broken as it can all be moved very easily. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Had a fall this morningTake care, June. I did similar to one of the above posts, slipped off our garden path, and had a lump the size of an egg. Was so sick and faint. GP assured me (over the phone), that it wasn't broken! Went on holiday a couple of weeks later, and ended up with a swollen leg and foot, and a trip to A&E, who did an x-ray and said there was a fracture of some of the small bones, which were now knitting.
I hope all your other bumps and bruises are on the mend.
