Craft Group Blog
Craft Group BlogCannot believe our craft group has been running for well over a year. It is a year since we also joined Yorkshire Countrywomen's Association.
Up till now we've done a wide range of crafts - we've made rag rugs, painted ceramics, knitted little items, crocheted flowers, sewn miles of bunting for our village hall, made beauty products, made handbags out of t-shirts and old shirts, had various sewing projects making pin cushions, door stops, etc. At the moment we having a go and upholstering old pieces of furniture, which is proving to be fun. We average about 10-12 members a session. Anyway, I've started a little blog it's early days so sure it will improve as time goes on. Here is the link:http://adwickcraftgroup.blogspot.co.uk/ Hope this is OK to share this with folk here. http://www.freshstartforhens.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Craft Group BlogSome of the ladies come for a natter and a cuppa with the group they now consider to be good friends with.
We had a trip to a little threatre production a few months ago and it was a really enjoyable occasion. Having a day trip to Holmfirth soon to have a look around and to go and raid a fabric wholesalers! Going to have a cuppa in Last of the Summer Wine cafe http://www.freshstartforhens.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Craft Group BlogSuch a great achievement to get something of the ground and keeping it running. I really wish we had something like that where I live. It must be lovely to share a hobby with like people and it does keep you motivated.
Good luck for the future of your group. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Craft Group BlogSame as you June, wish we had a craft group round here as well. I`d love to learn how to do quilting. Will definitely be following your blog bluebell
Re: Craft Group BlogHow lovely that it is doing so well - our little crochet group is still going (just) but it's a struggle! Shame really, but there you are.
Good luck with your blog Helen xx

Re: Craft Group BlogHad a look at your blog Bluebell, added it to my favourites.
Re: Craft Group BlogThank you, hun.
Helen, the main thing is that you are doing it - when we started the craft group we said we'd give it three weeks, as not a lot of people get involved with small village. I think what the ladies of our group enjoy is that we are all learning new crafts together - we are a down to earth bunch of people, sometimes we have done things which haven't gone according to plan and we have laughed about it - and had a cuppa and a slice of cake - things are never wrong then, are they. I'm going to add a blogroll to the blog and put DTL on. http://www.freshstartforhens.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
