Festival of Thrift
Festival of ThriftGoing to be held at Lingfield Point, Darlington on 21st and 22nd September - we are going on the Saturday 21st September.
Being organised by Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway and John Orchard. Going to be a good event - free entry and free workshops. If you are interested in recycling, upcycling, repurposing and basically being thrifty, this will be a good event to attend. They have a website - just google festival of thrift (sorry, cannot remember the website address) http://www.freshstartforhens.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hope they get some new converts and aren't just 'preaching to the choir' Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html

Re: Festival of ThriftWhat an incredible event this turned out to be.
Free entry, free parking, free workshops (covering a wide range of subjects), amazing stalls and much, much more. My friend Angela, got a huge bag of vintage clothing for £5. We attended a great sewing workshop. I know the organisers (Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway and John Orchard) had no idea of how many people would turn up. On Saturday over 10,000 people attended. Have no idea how many attended on Sunday, but I think a lot of people were sceptical about the festival and when they saw on internet how amazing the event had been attended the second day. Hope they have another festival next year http://www.freshstartforhens.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Festival of ThriftWould have loved to have gone to this but ended up having to take hubby to the airport for a last minute interview in NYC! (Not to live there!). Will have to keep my eye out for this in the future, thanks Bluebell!
No girls at the moment but look forward to getting more in the future. Proud mummy to Hector, a Bedlington Terrier x Jack Russell
Re: Festival of ThriftI hope that they will repeat this again next year. Lingfield Point is an amazing venue to hold this event.
Shame you had to do an airport run, would have been nice to meet up. http://www.freshstartforhens.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
