Scattered Megs Ashes
Scattered Megs AshesWe have just had a lovely quiet couple of hours in our local nature reserve. This is the place that has 5 lakes, where our old rescue dog Megan used to swim most days right up till the time when her cancer caught up with her. It was so quiet and peaceful there which did put us in a reflective mood, talking about all the animals that we have loved and lost.
We walked around the lakes, had a picnic lunch and then walked to her favourite spot where she always made for to get into the water. OH had made a tiny little white cross with her name on it which he nailed to a tree on the bank of the lake where she went in. We scattered her ashes and said our goodbye to that poor old dog who we wish we had had for longer. She was such a gentle and loveable old lady and along with the others, still sadly missed. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Scattered Megs AshesAww June That sounds such a lovely place for her ashes, and she will be there whenever you walk there

Right where we left her, we found a cherry plum tree that has not fruited before, full of fruit that we picked. So a lovely addition to the setting. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Scattered Megs AshesBless you both, June.
It sounds an absolutely wonderful place and totally fitting that her ashes be scattered there. There is no more an animal can ask for than to be loved, cared for and wanted and I am sure Meg appreciated every single second of her time spent with you both.
Re: Scattered Megs AshesI know words are easy to say June, but you both loved Meg as much as Meg loved you back, and that's pretty special in anyone's eyes!
I am old and wise, because I was young and stupid!.
