If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: Puppy Puppy Puppy!I can't believe I missed this post. He is just beautiful
When we got Daisy she was sick in the car on the way home too, but she just loves going out in it now. The only advice I can offer, which was given to me, was praise and reward good behaviour and ignore bad when they are a puppy :) Lyn

Re: Puppy Puppy Puppy! He's been a little devil this evening.
Obviously I have spoilt him with snuggles today and he is now crying every time he's put down - tomorrow I will be stronger Today he had a little trip out in the car up to the yard to introduce him to Solomon. It was like all creatures great and small with 17hh Irish Sport horse nuzzling his tiny new brother I still can't quite believe we've got him. Izzy keeps saying to me "Mum, I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and he'll be gone" Lucy x

Re: Puppy Puppy Puppy! And NOW he sleeps! How did other people cope with the night time crying? I've stayed firm and not brought him upstairs (I would probably have given in by now but hubs is home tonight and he won't be impressed if Eddie is allowed upstairs). When he cries in the night, should I ignore him or take him out? By taking him out of his crate to comfort him, am I just reinforcing that every time he cries, he'll get attention? Lucy x

Re: Puppy Puppy Puppy!Oh Lucy, what an absolute sweetie. I'm glad the first night went so well and it sounds as though you did the absolute right thing with the warm bottle and the ticking clock.
How well did you all sleep, with wondering if he was OK? I've just caught up with last night. I think you just have to remember that he has never been on his own before and will be missing his mum a lot and is so young to suddenly be on his own. I wonder if it would help to give him a largish soft toy to cuddle into. It really is hard to give advice as we are all have different expectations from our pets. Purists will say let him cry as he will get used to it. I personally see a baby animal that is distressed and would comfort him and try and train later. I'm probably wrong, but..... You have so much fun ahead of you with this little chap and I'm sure that he will get so much attention and cuddles. Who could resist him!. Keep the pic going as he grows up and thanks for the one today which is beautiful. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Puppy Puppy Puppy!Oh wow, what a little cutie he is and sooooo very small, bet your chuffed to bits.
Not answering the leaving downstairs/crating thing as Clare gave in with Teddy after the first night of being kept away for 4 hours...............
Re: Puppy Puppy Puppy!I 'm afraid I am unable to help with the. Crying issue because Lollie's crate was in our bedroom. We never got her out on a night other than to take her out to the garden but she does now sleep on our bed Good luck, I'm sure Super Wendy will have some advise!
