My cavalier came from a rescue home with ear drops should have been alarmed but they were cute ! Now he has chronic ear problems after 4 visits to the vets, today after a swab of the ear he has fungal infection i knew that anyway!Today the vet said that diet could improve his condition by using a raw food diet, any thoughts and comments? Would be grateful. A bacteriology swab cost £58.00!
I feed my dog raw, Nutriment and bones. He's a cocker spaniel and never had an ear infection or itching. I also sprinkle Thornits into the edges of the ear canal once a month. Thornits is the old canker powder. My first cocker had canker powder but when it came to my second cocker, you could no longer buy it.
Make sure the ear infection is clear before you use it.
My dogs have always been fed raw food. I have never given any of then dry. All, apart from one with inherited auto immune disease, have rarely gone to a vet. Nutriment would be fine for a cavalier, as it is minced.
