Re: Compo's matchbox!Compo had matchbox which he slid open to show someone, usually a lady in a pub, when they looked, they usually looked terrified and screamed!
No one ever discovered what was in the matchbox and that it went to his grave with him!
Compo's matchbox!Must be in the fun category; I'm a huge fan of Last of the Summer Wine, I follow one of their FB pages, and have all the DVDs including First of the Summer Wine. Sad I know, I have a mini pair of wellies, but I need suggestions (keep it clean)for something terrifyingly gruesome to put in a matchbox....
Re: Dustbin diving!Hi Gwenoakes, I mustn't complain but I gave up my allotment early this year as I was in and out of hospital just at the wrong time. It was covered in weeds, so sooner than receiving letters from the committee I let someone else have it. I pay a fiver a year for a key, so I can still go for a natter.

Re: Boiling vinegar.Having delved a bit deeper, it seems that early vinegar had microbe called a vinegar eel among other nasties. These bugs are no longer present in modern vinegar, so I'm not going to stink the place out boiling the stuff!
