Hi again!
So after 2 courses of flub my chook is still gaping. I can't see anything down her throat but she's not keen on me looking and otherwise she is fine.
Is there anything else I can do? Or anything else it could be??

Re: Gapeworm & Flub queryHi Manda, It's definitely not too warm right now!!! She has been treated for a respiratory infection a little while ago but she was quite wheezy then. We were unsure if she was actually ill then because she has never had a "voice". Always been a bit croaky. Thanks for the suggestion, maybe...
Gapeworm & Flub queryHello everybody, I haven't been here for a while but I have a question and the search facility brings up far too many topics to find the info I need! One of my girls is gasping in a classic gapeworm style. But she is doing it randomly, one day she will be fine, the next she will be gaping. I flubbed...
Re: I couldn't resist her!I have 2 white sussex, they are gorgeous aren't they! Didn't realise they were that rare though.
Re: Arghhhh! All will be well Lisa. Don't let it stress you too much.
You have an excellent plan, and you have extra room for more chooks! So everyone wins in the end. If I was closer I'd come and help.
Re: October 15th 2011 Rehoming dateI'll be there too + OH Adrian.
Re: I've made a decision...Hi Pookie,
Good decision!! Why wait, I say. As for batty's and the space you have, considering what they've been used to any space will be a big bonus!
Selling Eggs??I have had a question from one of my potential rehomers. She has a farm and already has some chooks, posh and battys. She has plenty of room and would like to have some more batty's next rehoming. But, she says she has trouble getting rid of all the eggs she has now, friends family etc. and a local ...

Re: New coop coming!Hi All, I too have recently 'gone plastic'. I was tempted by the Solway coops but in the end went for this.... m I can't fault the service from Chris. Mine cost £380 in total as I had 'non-standard construction' ie a slightly taller stand, chicken wire round 3 sides of the stand, etc. There were mes...
Re: Fairy lights, Bunting and all things pretty...Think you might've started something rachelLouisa!!!
I hope they have enough stock! Looks great.
Re: Purple comb advice pleaseThanks Steve, she hasn't laid for about a year now so hopefully no softy!
She perked up this pm, and her comb was only purply on the tips this evening. Going to get some maggots tomorrow, just in case. And maybe a bath for good measure.
Re: Purple comb advice pleaseHi All, I've jumped on this thread as I have a lady with a similar problem. Noticed yesterday she was a bit quiet, but then it was a balmy afternoon and a couple of the girls were having an afternoon nap. This morning her comb is quite purple and she seems a bit lethargic. Her vent is a bit dirty to...
Re: Is the inside of my coop big enough?.Looks good to me. I've had 5 of mine all squeezed into a nest box once!
Definitely room for a couple more! What do you fancy? Only a couple of weeks til the Batty's!?
Re: aarrrgggghhh got the bugYou need to do a thorough clean every few days for a while so that you get all the critters in the different stages of their lifecycle. I went a bit mad with a smoke bomb, Jeyes, Poultry shield, DE, etc and so forth..... Seems to have got rid the blighters for the moment but my general cleaning resu...
