Re: Composter Poblem

Mmmme.... I have just been explaining to my partner about these reptiles. Just goes to show you are never too old to learn something new - even if you dont particularly want to encounter it!

I would however love some piccies to look at.

Re: Bunny bangers!

Hello The only meat I eat is fish - this said I think that meal looks hearty and healthy. I would be very happy to give this to anybody and defy them to say they didn't love it! My mother used to work for a company called Bowyers (this was years ago) and she used to work on the sausage machine - put...

Re: Composter Poblem

Hello

Sorry but I am ignorant of what a slow worm is. My initial reaction was that the chickens would love to eat them however after reading these entries there is obviously more to it... and they are protected! Best I go and have a Google..

Re: New Hens

Hi Dont beat yourself up. We are all at the mercy of people who sell or give chickens to us (along with their various opinions as to what is correct) and we all do our best to learn as soon as possible what is best for the chickens - despite all the different information we are given. I know from ex...

Re: some of my favourite recipes

Hello all I have read all the recipes and today have tried one - the others are written down as I will have some time now to try them out. It all sounds good to me... We should think about a "down the lane" recipe book - for frugal living. In the current climate I think it would sell. Has ...

Re: My guinea pig is dying.

Hi Myself and partner are so sorry for the loss of your little one. We have always kept Guinea Pigs and have rescued a couple. We adore them. We have always had ours cremated so that when they are all gone they can all be together somewhere special. They love each other and can be very "off col...

Re: introducing new hens

Oh.. I forgot to say We were told that you can spray the hens so that they all smell the same. The suggestions for this were diluted vinegar or garlic infused water. We received this info too late so it was not tested. I understand the logic behind it and that it may help. I suppose nothing that wou...

Re: introducing new hens

Hello You poor things - this must be quite upsetting for you. We only had 2 hens to start with as we were new to chicken keeping and wanted to see how we would manage. it became clear that they are brilliant and so we got two more...... and this is where I can totally empathise with you. It was horr...

Hello I'm smiling for you Have a great time and you can always stay in frugal mode by asking for freebies. The big High Street chemist is good and they have a "clubcard" so you can use that for getting cash off in the future. Feel good about treating yourself when you can... and now is you...

Re: Help she has Weird feathers

Hello Thanks for the photos, we both had a look and although we are no experts the only thing we thought may be happening is that she may be being pecked by the Dallas flock - maybe JR! On a serious note we are no experts but that was what it looked like to us. I do know they will eat each others fe...

Re: Help she has Weird feathers

Hello Our girl is def not a frizzle. Dont know what breed the "Dallas" family are! We thought the straw may be the problem.... but the Eglu tray/laying area (where our girl with the problem likes to sleep) has a slit along the bottom of it and putting wood shavings into the tray would be a...
