Re: Flipping useless tin openers

I've been using the tin opener on my penknife for years now, because of the uselessness of the normal tin openers.
I've had the penknife for over 10 years so it was worth buying it!

Re: A few questions if that's ok? :)

Thanks for the great advice Manda & Kitla We're going to convert the shed before getting the new girls which means I can put the old coop in the cat run to use during the quarantine time. Great idea about giving treats together while separated by the wire - will have to get a good supply of meal...

Thanks to all your egging (scuse the pun) on we ended up with three lovely girls in our back garden! A year later we added two more girls with no problems. Unfortunately, we are now down to tw...

Hi Steve, her crop is empty at the moment as she hasn't been eating properly. Will continue to give her baths through the day and I'll try to get some of Wendy's potion down her too. Margo is ill :(

Hi all, One of our old girls has been very sick since yesterday. She took herself off to the hen shed late yesterday morning and stayed there all day. We checked on her every now and then. Her tail is down and she's not moving very much. She has had a drink of water, at one point yesterday she drank...

If he's happy to travel South then I get my girls from a lovely family farm - http://blackrocklayers.co.uk/default.aspx

Re: Are you a rural or a city Chicken keeper?

Sort of rural, we live in a small(ish) Welsh ex mining village and the ladies live ten minutes on foot away up the yard where I keep my ponies halfway up the side of the valley Same as poppydog, Welsh ex mining small town not far from Caerphilly. Although we live in very close to the centre of town...

Re: Eggs too 'eggy'

My friend won't eat our eggs so when she comes to stay, she brings her own with her She says that she has seen where our eggs come from I have tried to tell her that they all come from the rear end of a chicken but she is sure the supermarket ones are man-made in a clinical and clean environment. I...

Re: What cat food on offer around and about this week?

I've started buying the Breederpacks from the farm shop where I buy the hens food & straw. The cats were on dry food only but recently there's been a bout of cystitis in a few of them so its on to tinned food. I'm not a breeder but when you're buying nearly 150 tins a fortnight you need to shop ...
