Re: Our chicken journey so far.....

Thanks guys, they're just a few of the hundreds of pictures we've got already! Hubbly had to get me a new laptop for them all!! Even though we've only been chicken owners for a relatively short space of time, they really do win a place in your heart don't they. Have really tried to do everything rig...

Re: Pecking

They're so funny with their little ways aren't they :-D

Ours do the beak pecking too, but it seems more of a friendly 'you messy eater' type thing :-D {hug&kiss}

Re: Our chicken journey so far.....

Thanks guys. The vet seemed to think that maybe they had unearthed something in the garden that has been there for a while perhaps, or something else unbeknown to us. I don't want to take any chances, as much as I'd love to let them out in the garden that's why I got them an extension to their run s...

Our chicken journey so far.....

Hiya everyone, seeing as I'm new to the forum I just thought I'd tell you a bit about our chicken keeping journey so far. After much persuasion, my lovely hubbly agreed that we could get some chickens, so for our 2nd wedding anniversary we treated ourselves to a nice Omlet Classic and three lovely g...

Oooh okay thanks Steve :-D

I can't remember the breed of Elsie (stripey) and Hilda (ginger), but Dottie (black) is a 'Miss Pepperpot' - we got her from Omlet, one of their hybrids.

We've got three girls - a black one (Dottie) who lays pale brown eggs, a stripey one (Elsie) who lays dark brown eggs and our little Hilda, a ginger girl who has just laid ...

Re: eglu or not?

Hiya Chicken Madness We've got an Eglu Classic and whilst we're new to chicken keeping, I would say it's relatively easy to clean and maintain. I can take the lid off the Eglu part completely to clean out droppings and put fresh bedding down for them too. Mind you, I've never had a more traditional ...
