Hi I had 4 chickens and a long story short ,the fox took jess,we lost rosie and betty a year later leaving Florence on her own,she got really lonely and fed up over the last three months and then just passed away in the night ,so I suppose I am saying your girl will be terribly lonely on her own

Hi all I have been on holiday and the neighbour who has been looking after my last girl has forgot to lock her up one night and she has disappeared,with the two Quails that were in the pen. sadly we lost betty,the vet says she probably has the shell from one of her softes still inside,according to the vet the nerves on hens run along the abdomen and any pressure on them causes them to loose the use of there leggs.she said that antibiotics may help but 9 times out of ten is unsuccessful...

Thanks for replies,she has been in moult now for about 3 months ,(no feathers on her underside,she is 2 years old and has been laying regulary up to the last four weeks.I will just have to keep my eye on her as she is a real caracter
