no mites :) we checked them again and looks like its where the feathers have come out from the moult,so just a bit sore, nothing too bad,we have bathed the sore patches and applied the violet spray so they wont try to peck at each other, started giving them poultry spice and mashed boiled egg,and so...

cheers wendy no vent pecking luckily, and theres a couple that have been slightly pecked so going to get some violet spray tomorrow from our chicken shop when they are open, the wounds are only slight and it looks like they are moulting? could be the weather thats triggered it? i feel awful that ive...

really quite worried advice needed please

really quite worried,just been cleaning out the girls,and noticed that three of my four girls have gone totally bald underneeth!! and two of them have been pecked on their legs and have blood on them! should i rush them to the vets? they all seem fine eating and drinking ok and all in good health ot...

they are 17 weeks now and starting to crouch when i stroke them now and again,

just seen that someone near me neads a home for a lonely hen who is a year and a half old as her friend has died!!
i heve just got 4 point of lay hens,can i put her with my girls or would this cause a problem?

yes they are hun, i think they were happy for me to pick them up as they were a bit frightened as it was getting dark and i needed to get them in? they are known to be a gentle natured chicken and very hardy thats why we chose them really plus we like their colours,and they are really good egg layer...

thanks guys,they have the most beautiful green feathers on their backs!!
had to pick them all up and put them into the house tonight bless them,
as they were all huddled into a corner,gotta love them xx {hug}

well here are our four new girlies that i said i would show you all when i got them today, all rhode rocks, gave them all a good dusting of smite powder and popped them in the run, they have all been snuggled up in the house for the afternoon but are now back out checking it all out this afternoon b...
