Re: LL's Frugal February 2016

Its always good to get the capital down on your mortgage if you can. When the interest rates were really high we were paying a ridiculous amount. When this dropped with the interest rates we set up a standing order to pay the capital each month and some to a savings account we did a 90 10 split in f...

Re: This is the year

BTW. What have you been up to since you last posted here - it's been a while. Not a lot, working mainly and sleeping, fighting the dirt in between. Not holidaying or eating out. Spend time on FB-it's free. We got a couple of lambs to add to our menagerie not that they have saved us money but have g...

Re: WINTER TIME

Yes keeping the water flowing is a problem. I have to take it out warm with a bit of olive oil in it. I also take them out warm porrige in the morning and put more corn in the food mix, with extra straw in for bedding. Some days I only see them in the morning when I take out the porrige. We have to ...

Re: Doggie advice needed - should I do it?

asking the wrong person here. Do it. The fact that you are giving more reasons to take the dog than not means that you want her. A new lease of life for the both of you, men always are more reluctant as they think that they will be the one doing all the work. Why wait, next time that you see one you...

Bad Mum!

I asked Mr Spud to check under Floss's collare as she has been scratching there. I thought that she might have had a tick, as she is always rolling on something or another. Anyway he took off her collar and the skin underneath was bare!!! Only around the top half of the neck, not the bottom. Now I a...

Re: Spudleys 2011.

Last year and this year, I made a rule that anything that went down the drain didnt cost more than half price (or if there was a cheaper version than the one that I wanted at half price I would buy that). Last year there were loads of bargains to be had. I had no problem at buying half price stuff l...

Re: Frugal/tight and being skint! The overwhelming guilt.

Tagged onto this thread as my post is along these lines. I havent donated for a bit. My favorite dogs home (if you can have such a thing) was struggling to find sponsors for their calander. I know that the business couldnt afford it, so have ended up forking out my self for a page. I did ask Mr Spud...

Re: Car parts.

not just the parts, you will need all the tools too. If the pads and discs go on with out a fight then all well and good. The thing is what we tend to find is that most people who by the parts, then have to come in for the bleeding kits, flaring spanner, occasionally they mess up the brake pipe so n...
