Re: I made some Yorkshire puddings :-)

I didn't know that they could be frozen with any success!
This is great as I won't make them for just myself. What's the best way to reheat them?
This opens up a great deal of dinner possibilities!

Re: Garlic Sauce

hello Lisa, I'm not sure what you have tried or what US ingredients you don't have access to, but here is a basic garlic sauce that I have been making for vegan friends for years. It is one of those recipes that needs to sit over night to develop the best flavor but even a short rest is ok in a pinc...

Re: Dog and motion sickness...any suggestions?

I'm so happy to report that my girl is cured of motion sickness! We just returned from a 2 week 1200 mile road trip and she enjoyed every bit of it. She jumps right into the car and waits for her seatbelt harness to be attached with a great big doggie smile on her face! I'm grateful for all the enco...

Re: Tasty soup recipes?

Lisa if you like ginger, try adding one or two tablespoons of finely grated ginger and a minced garlic clove which have been gently sauteed in a bit of oil or butter to the soup/stew about 15 minutes before they are done. This adds a nice zing and depth of flavor that you don't get if you add them a...

Re: Dog and motion sickness...any suggestions?

Hello, my laptop died a horrible death so here is a belated doggie update. My girl is doing much better, although we get a bit of extra saliva now and again! She does much better on highways than on local streets, which could be because my area is in real disrepair currently. We have a big trip at t...

Re: Why do Dogs roll in Fox Poo ?

My last girl was the worst for rolling in stinky stuff. She would get such a look of glee in her eyes. Her all time best was a fresh bison patty!
ooohhh, I was so not pleased....she could have cared less.

Re: Dog and motion sickness...any suggestions?

Thank you everyone for all of your encouragement. I have extended the range of out outings a little with good results....well mostly so. I have learned to avoid certain roads which have been paved with cobblestones! The greatest success so far has been the trip to the butcher and the doggie treat st...

Re: Dog and motion sickness...any suggestions?

Well, we are making some progress! The last few days we have been in the car at 6:30 am...we take a short ride around the block, then back to the driveway. She gets a little snack and a special toy to play with while I drink my coffee and check my email. We sit for about 30 minutes with the windows ...

Re: Dog and motion sickness...any suggestions?

Thank you for your suggestions, they make a great deal of sense. We had been making early morning trips to the park before the heat sets in...she seems very happy to walk when we get there and she happily hikes for a good 2 miles or so. She gets back into the car very willingly. Since it's so hot du...

Dog and motion sickness...any suggestions?

The last of my old girls crossed the Rainbow Bridge in June...following her sister who made the trip in the fall. They were 15 and were great passengers in cars. The cats and I really missed a doggie presence in the house so, two weeks ago I adopted a most delightful 10 month old Pit/Lab/Vizsla....y...

Re: Biccies

I first tried it years ago on a fondant. I ran out of time working on a cake for a rose happy friend. Really, how many roses can you fit onto one cake! I just painted roses and buds on inbetween the icing ones. It looked great and I liked the effect of flat and 3 dimensional decorations.

Re: Biccies

beautiful, Manda! I admit that I have become a bit lazy....the last few times I made them I iced each one entirely with plain royal icing and when they were dry I just quickly painted on designs with paste food coloring! My thumbs have become a bit damaged over the years so this is easier on them th...
