Re: Another Run question.

My first lot of chucks had a two 6x6 runs which we changed over every few weeks when it was looking muddy, but the system wasn't tested through the winter as the fox got them. The current eglu system is moved every day with the 3 girls but if it's left for 2 days the grass takes a while to recover.

Re: Chickens at a school

Omlet have advice for schools and their runs.

I took a chicken of mine into pre school a few years ago and one boy who has addition needs really couldn't tolerate the smell.

The open book on a gory page would be the way to go!!

Re: Hen house for rent!

No real advice to give, other than it's hard to get a chicken to do what you want, i'm sure now that it's colder at night they will move back in. )t'

Re: Frugal Baby Ideas?

washable nappies, can be bought second hand, they work out cheap if you think you may have more than one child.

If you go down the disposable route don't buy too much in, as some makes fit better than others and it depends on your child. I found it much cheaper to buy nappies on line too.

Re: Frugal Baby Ideas?

Freecycle, baby groups, and breast feeding. Be cheeky and ask. Buy new cot/ Moses basket mattress and car seat. Do not bother with a baby bath, use the sink or bath together, Bounty bags have freebies but the really is so little you need to buy, if baby has dry skin olive oil works a treat. Not sure...

Re: St John's first aid ad

Maybe that is the answer a national ad campaign to teach first aid.

Does anyone remember 'charlie says' from the '70's?
