Re: Blind Giblet & friends at ChickenopolousPoor Bill - that's no fun
Re: Henpen's hens and Eggstremely odd eggsHmmm, well she is well in herself and very much typical, loveable Wiggy (as opposed to Wiggy Warrior Princess), although her warrior self does pop up occasionally - she has taken to fighting like a demon to stop me bandaging. I have won every time so far though! However... I am wondering how well th...
Re: Henpen's hens and Eggstremely odd eggsOh no, not the waggy finger!
Well, I have changed the dressing for the third time and it seems about the same as three days ago. Deflated, but still with a dark scab. So we shall see - at least the infection is gone. And she is fighting fit in every other way
Re: Blind Giblet & friends at ChickenopolousI'm sorry I missed that you had lost Beany. What a very sad loss to the Henpals. Those photos are wonderful - what a beautiful, fluffy girl
Re: The Henpals Rainbow Bridge LogI'm sorry to hear you have lost so many of your feathered friends recently, Bob. What a very hard time for you
Re: Sandy's Pink Ladies Hi HP Echo fine now thanks and Ronnie Ooh, I feel I should explain (and apologise to Ronnie): the reason I asked particularly about Echo was because you had said Ronnie was bouncy and bossy, so I thought Echo sounded like she was the most unwell. But having said that, I guess we all know with chook...
Re: Henpen's hens and Eggstremely odd eggs The gel sounds interesting - what's it called? Might see if I can find some to put on Dory's foot, in case her bumble is still active. Of course chicken foot wrapping is a transferable skill! You could transfer it to Dory Grey... Thanks - good to know I can find gainful employment! The vet gave me ...
Re: The Henpals Rainbow Bridge LogOh Amber, I am so, so sorry to hear that. You must be in shock, for it to come with no warning like that. It sounds like Sable was only in pain for very few days, and was enjoying life to the fullest up until then, which is a mercy for her. Dogs aren't just pets, are they? They are part of the famil...
Re: Henpen's hens and Eggstremely odd eggsThanks Karen. I have been using something that the vet gave me the first time round - it's a type of gel that is both antibiotic and also draws out the pus (apparently he thinks it will still be fine - despite being five years old). The treatment hasn't gone particularly smoothly. I really thought I...
Re: karen's chicken diaryOh Karen, that sounds awful for you. What a nightmare. How is the finger now?
Re: Sandy's Pink LadiesHow's Echo now, Sandy?
Re: The Henpals Rainbow Bridge LogYou're right Bob: That's a pretty fine way for a happy hen to go - free and enjoying a dust bathe. Lucky girl to find a home with you.
Sorry to hear about Champ too.
Re: Henpen's hens and Eggstremely odd eggsI didn’t know that, Sandy! Wiggy has got a bumble on the side of her toe. It’s been lovely having her bumble-free for so long, so I’m pretty sad about it. I have decided on hibiscrub soaks, bandaging and the antibiotics I had left over from Miranda, which I had also previously had the same type for ...
Re: karen's chicken diaryAs CC says, lovely pictures as per.
How wonderful to have a ginger Queen of Fruits among the Henpals once again. Hope your finger is completely healed now
Re: Henpen's hens and Eggstremely odd eggsHooray, we have finally (mostly) overcome the leaky roof. It's almost certainly temporary but it was a blooming nightmare all last winter and every time it rained throughout the year. I finally found a large enough tarpaulin and some really long bungees and despite being very simple, it is better th...
