Re: Starting my diary

Saw a different vet today - Amy - who confirmed pretty much what the first vet said - peritonitis. She also could feel a lump internally. She mentioned that she was hydrated-great. Was perky and bright-great. BUT was very worried about her weightloss - 1/4 of her body weight in 2 weeks! So although ...

Re: Starting my diary

She is such a little treasure! She is fighting!

When I picked her up this morning, her breastbone was so prominent - Im going to try and get a vets appointment for later today. She is pecking and scratching and eating grapes, but clearly is not eating pellets.

Re: Starting my diary

Thank you!

Bonnie is still hanging in - she has managed to clean herself up :-D but is still very swollen. She is eating, but when I picked her up this morning, I could feel her breastbone. She isn't scratching much, just standing around.

Re: Starting my diary

Managed to get abit of medicine in her yesterday in sardines. Her bum was very messy, so we gave her a bath and brought her inside to dry off. She had abit of honey in water, grapes and some seeds. Before she went to bed, I held her and OH syringed her medicine in. We did the same this morning, howe...

Re: Louise's Chicken Diary

Hi Louise, Mary, Rose and Violet! Here's to many hours looking after, treating and spending time with your girls. We had a lot of fun before the lockdown, raking leaves into piles around the garden, to have the chickies following me around destroying each of the piles in turn! Whatever it is you're ...

Re: Starting my diary

Re: Starting my diary

After a 3 week holiday driving across Route 66 in America in October, collected the chickies from their boarding houses and Queenie was almost completely bald. She had little white quills all over her. She now has all her beautiful feathers back, but is still very wary and skittish - not at all like...

Re: Starting my diary

hi Had an awful 6 months! I took Marilyn dying very hard, which was weeks after Dotty's prolapse - so things didn't settle down. Then at lunchtime a few weeks later, I found Penny dead in the run with Bonny and Marge cuddled up to her. Marge has been very poorly, vet gave her Tylan injection and I h...

Hi Bluefinch

sorry to hear your girlies have gone {cry}

yes, go for ex-batties - best thing I ever did! They are amazing little girls - so brave and resilient. And to see them flourish is wonderful - with all their individual personalities.
