Re: Am shocked and mortified!!!

Oh what a trauma for you madmum. Wendy, with her immense knowledge is right as always!! Dogs cannot be expected to like all they meet (as with any animal). I would definitely not become tense when you meet other dogs, otherwise Max will pick up on this tension, and feel that there is a reason to be ...

Re: Help with new ex batts please

I would say the same really - making sure they can see each other is the key. I find it far easier to introduce similar numbers of new to old - (or a couple more new ones), so the older ones don't go mental pecking at the newer ones. Also, I'd get another drinker and feeder, so when you do transfer ...

Re: Where do you buy your supplies

You should be able to find a livestock feedmerchant - or maybe a Wynnstay or countrywide?

I use a local animal feed place which is fine. Pets at home is fine, but you're paying over the odds there

Re: Advice on moving chooks

I would use cardboard boxes, with newspaper in the bottom, with plenty of ventilation holes. When it's dark, they seem to settle down and keep calm and quiet. It's not too far either, so I'd say you'll be ok with them on that journey. Just make sure their new home is ready and waiting with plenty of...

Re: What have you named your chooks????

I still have one of my original ex-batts (had her for 5 years now) - she's called Bossy, but her nickname is "Deaths door" at the moment - as she's on her own in a separate run as the others pick on her! 2 Fenton Blue's - Wiggy and Little Wig Amber star - Amber White star - Doughnut Black ...

Re: Sadly need to rehome our boy ducks

Hello Willow!!!

It's been a while since I've been on here. I could help, but not for a few weeks, as I'm not moving until then. I will have 10 acres and a pond for them? however, I will be leaving near Buxton which is a bit far isn't it!! :shock:

Re: little Jerry didn't make it

It's so sad to hear your news, but at least they have had happy times with you. It can happen with ex-batts. {cry}

I had 4 ex-batts 4 years ago, and 2 are still going strong, and even laying - it's hard, but you know you rescued them! )t'
