He has been sitting on my lap outside all night as calm as anything but he does not like being picked up and is happy to dish out a small nip to let you know this!

Percy @ 6 weeks old, he has gained a lot of weight since then.

Lastest episode, we took our eyes of him for a few seconds and he chewed through the electric fan cable!

Re: New to chicken keeping

Thanks for the replies I will purchase some grit on my next trip out. Putting an extra food station down has cooled things and "Blackie", who is now brown! but bottom of the pecking order happily gets to eat. Interesting watching the interaction between them as they grow up. We never thoug...

Re: Gaint rabbits

Well I think we must have picked one of the most bad tempered rabbits in Bulgaria! When he returns to his crate and finds no food the bowls and plates get thrown everywhere, if we do not let him out quick enough in the morning when we return from walking the dogs his crate is trashed, newspaper ripp...

Re: New to chicken keeping

Our chicks now look like chickens though miniature ones as I presume they still have some growing to do. They have all started "squaring up" to each other presumably to sort out their pecking order. I noticed one was being kept away from the food so we have put an extra feeder down and tha...

Re: New challenges

Still a bit of a way to go on the birds then !! A long long way to go! Distinctive birds like the Bee-eater, Hoopee, Rollers, Storks and the fantastic Golden Oriole are easy to pick out (we have Golden Orioles nesting behind us) it is the smaller birds we have trouble with. I found a small course i...

Re: Gaint rabbits

)like( I had a Flemish Giant when I was a child We are not sure what breed ours is, possibly a German or Flemish as they look very similiar. Did you feed yours anything special because of the rate of growth and size? We went out and cut and dried meadow hay from the fields around us, a task to be r...

Giant rabbits

During previous visits to a local small livestock market we came to notice that many people were selling rather large grey rabbits, they had one to show you their full grown size then the smaller youngsters separate. Being a couple of softies we immediately put our mind to having one of these and th...

New challenges

During yet another mid life crisis (they occur on a regular basis!), I decided I would become a rock star, thought I would look good strutting around in a sequined suit with a guitar in hand. So to get through this I acquired a "six string" and started a "teach yourself" guitar c...

Re: Did anyone collect.......

MEXICO 70 Football stickers and I remember putting a postcard in the local CO-OP (If I remember correctly) to get swaps to complete my collection. All I recall is Bobby Moore was on the front of the sticker book, not sure if the sticker packs were free or you had to buy them. Around the same time I ...

Re: Slingshots/Catapults

What do you mean "does anyone remember"? I still use it for the proper purpose, (repairs, I don't knit my own). Mind you, it is harder to find these days, though you can get anything online. Knitted knickers, now that is something I have never seen! I used to leave for school with it hold...

Slingshots/Catapults

We have just taken up learning how to fire these, as a kid you just got a Y shaped branch added some elastic bands or knicker elastic (does anyone remember that stuff?) and off you went. I never realized how far things had moved on, tubes and bands of all different strengths, lengths and thickness, ...
