Re: Coop repairGood morning and welcome to the lane . Lots of people here to help you with that (Not me i am useless ) Before you lay out any money, make sure it's big enough for what hens you want, as they do need a decent size run for the daytime. Sleeping is less of a problem as they all tend to squeeze in toge...
Re: edna has a dark red combYou say her comb is dark red? Purple blue, or just red? If she is eating/drinking ok i wouldn't worry to much, as she may not lay many eggs now at 4 just now and again.
Re: Lily our bantam on last legs, what can I do?I had a girl who was lame for ages, and maybe the reason she is getting weak is that she can't feed/drink properly. As suggested perhaps a trip to the vet. I know for some its not that easy, vets are not cheap these days. If thats not an option perhaps put her in a small dog cage, keep food water ne...

Re: Worst day in my Chicken keeping lifeIt's heartbreaking. In 2012 i lost in total 6 girls. 2 on the same day, i was heart broken. I now only have 1 big girl, and the others are Bantums they don't seem to have the same egg problems as the big girls, and although i love them dearly have now decided that they will be the last for some time...
