Re: How much do you spend on weekly groceries?

For the 2 of us, £30, and that does include everything; household, personal, clothing, garden....I can say we lack nothing~ We do only have beef when we are lucky enough to find steaks marked down at night to 20p. I buy fish the same; marked down to an unbelievable price. I've bought milk for 3p but...

Re: Money saving tips for the kitchen, please?

I found a beautiful, round, vintage tablecloth at the charity shop, white with red cherries. It fits my table perfectly. It didn't have one tear or stain on it and I got it for 50p. That was money well spent. :-D

Re: Money saving tips for the kitchen, please?

One thing I will not economise on is my coffee but I do stock up when it is on offer. I used to be a real "brand" person but will now buy supermarkets own brand. Don't buy expensive/fancy cleaning cloths use old towels/sheets/"t" shirts etc. Don't buy fancy window cleaner, wasin...

Re: Money saving tips for the kitchen, please?

Know the price of things that you never want to compromise on, and try to stock up when they're on offer. I try to only buy fair trade coffee, tea and hot chocolate, which are obviously more expensive, but are on offer reasonably often, so I stock up. I go without tea or hot chocolate if we run out...

It's from the cabbage family and yes, similar in toughness, I think..personally, I think cabbage is milder in taste~

Re: A MUST HAVE flower!

I can 2nd LL on the black fly and caterpillar comments. One year I had them growing in a flower border just by my front door, I went out to do my weekly shop and on returning about 2 hours later the plants (or what was left of them) were covered in cabbage white caterpillar, that had gorged so much...

Money saving tips for the kitchen, please?

I'm always looking for ways to save as much money as possible, in the kitchen. Any great tips and ideas? Not just food, but anything to do with the kitchen. Here is one of mine. I love the price of (oh by the way, are we not suppose to actually say the name of the store?) A$da's coffee but the taste...

Re: Vegetarianism and health

I don't think there is one diet out there that is suitable for everyone. I believe you have to figure out what works best for you. We aren't against it but rarely eat red meat...we do eat fish and chicken alot. I know if I don't get enough protein I feel lethargic. Not enough milk and cheese and I g...
