Thanks Perchy, will get her there tomorrow. Just been to check her again and feel she has deteriorated a little. Hope she's ok overnight.

Re: Woohoo!

Great fun, I have had the same coop for 3 years and very pleased with it.
I do keep a tarpaulin over the sleep area which I drop down at night/bad weather.
Enjoy.....and your girls of course. Are you getting any batty's?

Swollen underbelly

Elsie has developed this last day a swollen underbelly and is standing/walking with her legs apart. I cannot feel anything in her lower vent. Otherwise seems ok .Should I get her to the vets as I feel its got larger today? I have just examined her again and she is panting a little bit but that could...

Nettle and Comfrey fertiliser

Wondered if anyone else makes free fertiliser.
I have done it for years but not sure if there is anything I should not use it on.
I have watered the whole garden tonight with it, I do however warn my neighbours
first as it is a bit pongy. This usually goes within 24 hours or less. >veg<

Re: Mares tail

It took us about 4 years of constant pulling up but eventually go rid of the beast. I believe its a very ancient plant.

Re: Identify Red Mite

I had the same worry this week as I saw a tiny red insect on the laptop keyboard. My OH had done the am hen duty and I thought OMG its fallen off his hair. It was spider like but I had to check online to reassure myself - PHEW! Thank goodness some of us have not had them, I suppose once you have you...

Re: Daisy off colour

Thanks Manda, sorry I posted in wrong section - can it be moved to health?
I have just collected from vets antibiotics and wormer to cover all options.
She is lethargic but I feel better knowing that we are giving her a fair chance.

Daisy off colour

Daisy my ex batt. is not ok. I have had her over 18 months. She was gaping for one day which has stopped. Her crop seems empty, poos runny/yellowish. Vent seems ok. Tail up but she is sluggish. I have checked her throat and seems ok. Eating a little and resting a lot. I have given her some of my Pro...
