Re: It never rains but...

What steroids is it you take missus chops? I've taken prednisone since September last year but I'm being weaned off them now with a view to stopping taking them in three weeks.

Re: Bantams

Ive an Orpington bantam, she's a really loving pet, as soon as I sit down she hops up for a cuddle. By far the friendliest of my chooks. However, she goes broody for fun! Since she came into lay about August she's been broody 4 times, the last was when it was heavy snow. If you can put up with the b...

)ot: Hi Steve, nice to see you. Hope you're all well Not too bad Ellie, thanks for asking, new medication seems to be working miracles in my hands, my feet and knees are a different story though, still in a lot of pain, perhaps there's damage hiding there. I've an appointment with the rheumatologis...

Re: Fox proof wire

Not posted for yonks but read every day Fox proofing - 16g mesh, it makes 19g look pathetic. It really is worth the extra. My run is made of 2x2 timbers. The mesh is nailed to this with 1 1/2 clout nails then over battoned with 2x1 timbers screwed down with 2" screws, the entire run is on flags...

Re: Guinea Pigs?

I can only say what I was told during training, and that was no lettuce for pigs or bunnies. I remember my Aunty feeding her guineas lettuce (no idea what sort) and the next day they had all passed away... tough lesson. I doubt the lettuce had anything to do with it, I've been feeding lettuce to pi...

Re: Guinea Pigs?

As a vet nurse I would strongly advice against feeding guineas and rabbits lettuce and cabbage as well. Maybe this list will help? Mine have a mix called 'royal rabbit' they eat the majority of it whereas other mixes they left loads.

They also get hay everyday and greens (spinach, cucumber or lettuce) every other day.

What happens on TV and what really happens in real life are generally a million miles apart.
