The one on that ebay link are made from 1 1/2" square (probably finished to arouns 1 1/4"), the ones from Wells Poultry are 63x38mm finished size and tanalised pressure treated. The others are treated but most likely just a standard fence dip.

Re: Fox proof wire

it's not just the mesh, it's how it's fitted. The mesh really needs to be as taut as possible and well fixed. If there is any of it that can be bent, even slightly it will be a weakness and once one is broken the next will be easier. I've also seen quite thick guage mesh located in shallow grooves -...

Re: DIY chicken enclosure

I think one problem you have at the moment is the weather - most trades people are looking for indoor work at this time of year. The other issue may be the plans. Either you or whoever is building it needs to have a very clear idea of exactly how it will go together. You either need to employ someon...

Re: Frozen eggs

the problem is that they will crack the shell if they freeze but you can't always see it once they defrost so there is a chance they will suck in some nasties

Re: Plse settle a family hen row- cleaning out coups

Mine don't sleep in the house, only in the run so other than poohs left on the way to the nest box the house hasn't needed cleaning out for several years. The run itself is covered so fairly dry and the floor is covered in a good layer of wood waste. There is never more than a days worth of pooh on ...

Re: vaccine

There are several vaccines available - probably 4 or 5 if you want to cover most things. These are normally administered in the first few days. Prices are between £25 and £50 / vaccine. Dose sizes vary from 500 to 2000.

Re: Evil neighbour has struck back!

a vehicle is a device used to transport goods or people. As long as your camper isn't used to carry people or goods it isn't a vehicle and can stay put. A bike, cart, shopping trolley, golf trolley on the other hand shouldn't be left at the front.

Re: Evil neighbour has struck back!

google search for domesticated definition:

domesticatedpast participle, past tense of do·mes·ti·cate (Verb)
Verb:
Tame (an animal) and keep it as a pet or for farm produce.
Cultivate (a plant) for food.

I think the deeds say you can't keep wild animals in your garden.
