Great responses!! I must say part of the fun for me is designing labels to go on the egg boxes. A friend and I normally order our egg boxes in bulk - they work out about 6p each - so brilliant if you can buy them cheaper!! I'm not very arty - just have wording on my labels, but find people look forw...

Selling Eggs

Just wondering - we have 22 hens (+ 3 boys). When we first got our hens we were always being asked by work colleagues if they could buy some from us. We now sell half a dozen big eggs for £1 and the bantam eggs at 50p a half dozen. Do you sell your eggs or do you just tend to keep them for yourself...

I used to do customer services correspondence for a well known large chain of stores. We often received letters of complaint sent to head office regarding out of date products sold - a letter of apology and a gift voucher were always sent out. Shouldn't really have said that, should I So if you are ...

When I saw the heading free petrol I thought it was going to be relating to biodiesel. Just thought I would mention something that is causing me confusion (easily done!). My hubby's friend runs a car and regularly buys ordinary vegetable oil to put in the petrol tank. I seriously thought my hubby wa...

Hi Wendy I've just rammed a cuppa and a cheese sarnie down my neck - I was absolutely starving at 2 o'clock, but funny thing, for once, couldn't eat my breakfast this morning. Tell you, if you knew me you know that's NOT normal Jackie and I are up for helping with any future rescues that we can help...

Jackie - Just waiting for Pippa to arrive and we'll be back for 'our' girls!!! I have to say it's been a great day (except poor little lass I took to work). Have met some lovely people today. I do not want to sound like one of the 'pat on the back' brigade, but Jackie has been bl**dy marvellous, I c...

Ey up mate - it's me! Have just popped home for a cuppa and a bite to eat, before coming back through to collect our hens. Sadly - the little hen I rushed over to our surgery has been put to sleep, the prolape was ulcerated and was too far in a bad way - I'm sorry to say  I have to say I felt a...

Hi everyone - It's just through talking to chickenchaser today that I have been directed to this website. As we speak I am sure Carly and Graham who are co-ordinating this rescue are working frantically to get everything in place for the fortunate hens to be re-homed. I believe 800 or so of these he...
